Spring Season 2001

The spring league completed with one of the best showings in recent memory.

Men's Team #1 (Coach: Brad Roetcisoender)  Classified "C" in Washington USSSA Church tournament competition. Plays in Division 1 of the Weeknight Marymoor Park League in Redmond, run by Redmond Parks and Rec.
Men's Team #2 (Coach: Steve Jessup)  Classified "D" in Washington USSSA Church tournament competition. Plays in Division 4 of the Weeknight Marymoor Park League in Redmond, run by Redmond Parks and Rec.
Women's Team (Coach: Cathie Coffin)  Plays in Women's Weeknight Grass Lawn / Marymoor League.

The Men's Division 1 team (Chargers) completed their division schedule with a 10-4 record, earning a 2nd place finish and entry into the post-season playoffs where they also finished in 2nd place.  In June, they also entered into USSSA Church tournament, finishing 3rd in a field of 10 teams and a 3-2 record.

While Washington experienced one of its worst droughts this year, the Westminster Colts experienced one of their wettest seasons ever.

Playing in Men's Division 4, the Colts had a record number of rainouts and did not play their first game until the first week of June. In just over one month, Westminster played all but one of its scheduled 14 games, finishing with a record of 7-6. The Colts wound up third, just barely qualifying for the playoffs.

In a shortened playoff format, Westminster eliminated the Lucky Dogs and advanced to the league championship game. The Colts came up short against Robb's Repair to claim second place in the league.

Fall Season 2001

The "second season" was not as kind as the first.  Westminster was able to field one men's team and one coed team.

The Westminster Mustangs men's team was a mix of the Spring league's two teams.  While only compiling a 5-8-1 record (5th in Division One), the Mustangs still had fun.

Fielding a coed team for the second straight year, Westminster competed in Division 2 this summer, one division higher than last year. The club finished in the middle of the pack with a 6-6 record.  Westminster was given two forfeit wins on the last day of the season. The final doubleheader, which was to be played on the evening of the tragic events, was scrapped since Westminster's opponent was unable to field enough players.
