Reaching the community through athletics

If you’ve been around Westminster for the last couple of years, you’re
familiar with the “chapel stories” that are presented on various Sunday
mornings.
The chapel stories not only allow us to meet members of the Westminster
family but also encourage us to share our faith with others.
In keeping with the chapel story theme, the adult nurture department of
Westminster will be introducing a group of individuals who desire to reach out
to the community through athletics. Each week from May through September,
participants in Westminster’s softball program have the opportunity to touch
lives through encouragement and sportsmanship.
Beyond the scope of fellowship, the Westminster athletic program is preparing
to launch an effective sports ministry that will reach those who do not know
Jesus Christ.
Through these newsletters and through the new Westminster Sports web site,
you’ll have the opportunity to meet players who have a heart to share God’s
love on the ball field and who wish to extend Westminster’s vision of
ministry. As they are introduced, please remember them in prayer and support
them with your encouragement.
